Maintaining Fiscal Responsibility

We have to make sure that we are getting the most out of every tax dollar.

As your City Councillor, I will demand tough, independent financial audits to uncover the millions of dollars in waste due to inefficiencies, redundancies, and outright fraud.

Working with the rest of the Council, I will push to have the money efficiently used to fund our police and fire departments, and after-school programs, as well as seniors’ and youth centres. I will push to have Toronto Council institute management reforms that will save tax dollars and make your local government more efficient and accountable.

As your Councillor, I will fight for all of us through a tough, bottom-line approach to managing our scarce resources. I will make sure your new Toronto Council is continually evaluating our performance against best practices that are working in other cities. Why? Because we can no longer afford the “pigs at the trough” mentality of the previous nine years.
